From 1 November 2025, aged care at home is changing. The Australian Government will introduce the new Support at Home program, replacing the current Home Care Package system with a more streamlined and personalised approach to care.

What’s Changing in the New System?

Under the Support at Home program, you will notice three key changes:

1. Quarterly Budgets
   clients will receive quarterly budgets, giving you more predictability and control over your care.

2. Three Service Categories
   Services will be grouped into:

   • Clinical Care (health and medical support)

   • Independence Support (mobility, rehabilitation, allied health)

   • Everyday Living Support (household help, transport, personal care)

3. New Client Classifications

   • Grandfathered Clients (current package holders who keep existing arrangements)

   • Hybrid Clients (transitioning to new rules over time)

   • New Clients (entering directly into the Support at Home system)
